Fourth Day: Sarcofagos de Karajía & Pueblo de los Muertos

7:30 AM.-  Breakfast

8:00 AM.-  Departure for Luya province – Lamud to get to the archeological site of Pueblo de los Muertos, after to get there we will take a walk over 30 minutes, guided visit, return to Luya, lunch and departure to the colorfull village of Cruz Pata, and after around 20 minutes on foot you will begin to see the Karajia Sarcophagi, wich are pre-Inca tombs, some 1000 years old, implanted at the top of a cliff, they are 2 meters tall, sculpted in mud, and decorated with geometric motives,  we leave for the village of Tingo in the afternoon and finally return to the hotel in Chachapoyas.

Fifth Day: Gocta: One of World’s Highest Waterfalls

 6:30   AM  - Breakfast

7:00 AM.- We leave Chachapoyas to get Cocachimba town, in our way, we will apreciate the Caclic Sarcophagi, located in an inaccessible out-jutting rocky, after one a half hour we get to the colorfull Cocachimba town, from where our two and a half hours walk beginns. We will see on the waysugar cain fields, the tipical “trapiche”, the flora and fauna with the constant view of the Gocta Waterfall getting to it way ahead. Overwatching photograps and more you want to do, This waterfall has been known by locals for decades, but only recently has its existence emerged as common knowledge. Local people feared the curse of a beautiful blond mermaid who lived in its waters if they revealed its whereabouts. An ancient myth says that the mermaid keeps a golden bowl which in turn is guarded by a giant serpent, which is why locals since time immemorial have kept away from the waterfall, which they call the “spout.” Return to Cocachimba Town for lunch and then return to the hotel in Chachapoyas.
